Local Mission Programs
Throughout its sixty year history, NACC has maintained strong commitments to mission and ministry beyond the local congregation. Through its budgets and Outreach Foundation, significant financial support is provided annually to multiple agencies and mission programs. In 2008, this amount totaled nearly $150,000. In addition, NACC members are also active participants on agency boards and volunteers in these various programs.
Organized in 1987, this local chapter of the national movement seeks, in partnerships, to provide quality affordable housing for Greene County citizens. Having provided significant funding and labor for the construction of twelve such homes in the last fifteen years, NACC was recently awarded for it's generosity and work.
Begun in 1984, this community outreach program provides shelter, a family nurturing center, and medical/dental clinics for the community poor, homeless, and hungry.
Founded in 1969, this ecumenical organization of community churches in collaborative outreach seeks to "improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable among us." Through its nine operational agencies, ministry is extended to over 100,000 persons per year in meeting significant and unique needs in the Ozarks. NACC was among the first partner churches and continues to be one of its strongest supporters.
NACC was one of the original "fish churches" in 1969 accepting responsibility for providing food, clothing, and volunteers on a regularly scheduled basis to assist distressed families and address local issues of poverty. Members bring donated foodstuffs weekly to stock our pantry and now over 100 families are served on a daily basis by this program. In addition, holiday food baskets and the Christmas Toystore see exceptional generosity in donations.
Originally a part of OCC, this southwest Missouri Food Bank program seeks to distribute food across its 350 member agencies and "transform hunger into hope."
