What makes National Avenue substantively different from churches who spend their energy in a struggle for life is that our life is not focused on our own existence.  The apostle Paul warned the early church not to "grow weary in doing good."  We must understand that it is our devotion to mission, not to our building, our reputation, our past, but to what substance we find in extending ourselves for others . . . in that we find our path to salvation.
